Introduction

After spending the last few months researching and testing, I’ve come up with a deer soap repellent recipe that will keep your homemade glycerin soaps safe from the pesky little creatures.

As a kid, I remember seeing deer grazing in my neighbor’s yard every morning. Now that I have my own yard, I find it entertaining to see them outside as well. However, there is one time when the sight of deer isn’t so pleasant for me – when they run through my garden and eat all of my fruits and vegetables! This is why I decided to try out some different recipes for making homemade repellents against these animals. The first one I made worked pretty well but then after about two weeks or so they came back again eating everything in sight like nothing happened before… So now it’s time to make another kind of repellent that works even better than before!

This recipe consists mainly of two ingredients: garlic cloves (which can be used whole or minced into smaller pieces) mixed with water at room temperature until they form a paste. Once this mixture has been prepared, you simply apply it around any areas where unwanted pests may enter your home such as doors, windowsills etcetera – sounds easy enough right? Well not exactly…as these pesky little guys are known for having sensitive noses which means they won’t go near things like strong odors/smells if possible! So what do we do about this problem? We just need to find another ingredient that will deter them away from entering our homes instead 🙂 Luckily enough for us though – citronella oil fits perfectly into this category because its scent does not attract them (like other essential oils might) but rather deters deer from coming near our homes altogether due solely based on their dislike towards its smell alone!

Ingredients

• 2 cups of deer soap
• 1 cup of water
• 20 drops of essential oil (if you want to add a scent, I recommend lavender or lemongrass)
• 4 tablespoons of coconut oil
• 1 cup of blueberries (any berries will do)
• 1 orange (you can substitute with lemon if you prefer the smell)

Instructions

• Prepare your molds. If you’re working with a silicone mold, be sure to check that it’s clean and dry before proceeding. If you’re using paper molds, be sure to line them with parchment paper or waxed paper; this will help the soaps slide out more easily later on.
• Add water to the soap base until it reaches a soupy consistency; this is called “lye water.” A good ratio is 1 part grated soap base and 3 parts lye water. Add liquid soap if desired (this can be purchased online or at craft stores).
• Once you have achieved the proper consistency for your mixture, add your essential oils and food coloring; stir well until combined.
• Pour into molds, spreading as needed with an offset spatula or spoon until each cavity of each mold is full (about 2/3 full). Let cool undisturbed for 24 hours at room temperature; then remove from their molds by tapping gently on their bottoms while holding onto their sides with oven mitts (the hot soaps will likely stick to these grips). Let air-dry another 24 hours before packaging in airtight containers if desired–this will ensure longer shelf life than storing in plastic bags!

Deer don’t like soap. But they don’t mind it, either. The best soap to use is one that doesn’t have any strong scents or colors and isn’t too hard or soft. The deer will just walk right over it and go about their business, which is what you want them to do. You might think that if you put out a fancy French milled bar of castile soap, the deer would be so enthralled with its luxuriousness that they would never bother eating anything in your garden again—but that doesn’t work. If you want something effective but inexpensive and easy to find, try Ivory brand soap!

The most important thing when making a deer repellent with Ivory (or another brand) is not to let the pieces fall apart in your garden after they’ve been broken off from the bar by animals walking through them; otherwise those pieces will dissolve into nothingness over time due to rain or wind exposure after being left lying around on top of soil where seeds could sprout up inside them later on down the line!
