The first sign that you may have fleas is itching. If you notice that your scalp feels itchy or irritated, this can be a sign that there are fleas on your head. Itching tends to be worse at night, when the flea bites become more active.

Another sign of a flea infestation is dandruff or dry skin around the hairline or neck area. This is because fleas like to bite these areas because they contain lots of blood vessels close to the surface of the skin. So if you notice that these areas seem dry or flaky, this could mean that they have been bitten by a flea!

-The presence of small, dark specks on your scalp, neck, or shoulders. These specks are usually flea dirt, which is made up of flea feces and skin cells.
