A few years ago, I had an cucumber crop completely wiped out by Powdery Mildew. Every time I water the plants they would die. Obviously, I was devastated and called the local extension service in hopes of finding a solution. After combing over their extensive library they came up with one remedy: Hot Pepper Wax (a product made by Bonide). This seemed to do the trick and saved my crop that year. I know you’re probably thinking “homemade fungicide for cucumbers? That’s got to be some kind of joke.” You see, cucumber crops are the most affected by powdery mildew and downy mildew in the USA. In fact, it can destroy whole fields where cucumbers are planted. There are many methods for combating this fungus, but one of the most notable is a homemade fungicide made from garlic. My wife loves homemade recipes and I am currently hands-on around the house, so we decided to try our hand at making a homemade recipe for fungicide for cucumbers. After some research, this is what we came up with, which has worked wonders on our plants! My grandfather’s cucumbers were prone to fungus disease, and he tried just about everything — those weird crunchy things, powders, dusts, sprays, you name it.
