Get rid of flying ants without pesticides! This video will show you how and is based on my personal experience! I used to get a lot of ants in my wall and attic. Then, I finally figured out how to keep them outside for good. Follow these steps and your ant problem will disappear like that. This method wont harm you or your family, and it wont harm the environment like all those ugly pesticides do.Ants are a problem that many of us face from time to time. They can infest the most unlikely areas such as your home and the most unwanted area of all – the bathroom! Although they aren’t dangerous, they can make you and your family uncomfortable enough to want to do something about them immediately. Their presence in and around your home is not only annoying but potentially dangerous to the health and well-being of you and your family. Flying Ant Control If you have flying ants then chances are that these aren’t ants that you have to worry about but may be signs of an infestation by carpenter ants. Carpenter ants are black or dark brown in color, measure around 1/8″ long when mature, can be winged or non-winged, and do not have a sting or any type of venom like fire ants. Because they are much larger in size, carpenter ants require different treatment methods than flying ants to remove their population from around your home or out buildings. How To Kill Ants With Wings
1. Create an Ant Bait Station
An ant bait station is a container that allows you to apply certain types of insecticides to your home’s ant problem. It can be placed outside, in the garage, or in other areas where you see ants coming and going. Place it near their trails and use them regularly to keep on top of your ant problem.
Ant bait stations are plastic or cardboard containers with holes in them for the ants to enter and exit easily. Inside these containers is an insecticide that’s toxic only to the ants—it won’t harm humans or pets (which means you can leave it out where everyone can see). The bait attracts the ants with its sweet scent, then kills them when they eat it—hence why it’s called “bait.”
2. Use Diatomaceous Earth
Diatomaceous earth is a natural substance that can kill ants. It is made up of the fossilized shells of freshwater and marine phytoplankton called diatoms, and it can be used to control many species of insects. When insects such as ants walk through it, they will ingest the powder and then die when they brush up against other ants or objects that have been coated with DE.
The main benefit of using DE is that it’s cheap, safe for humans and pets (it’s actually food-grade), non-toxic to mammals, won’t damage your home or belongings if used properly, has no odor (except for maybe a slight earthy smell), doesn’t leave harmful residue behind after application on countertops/floors/etc., leaves no stains or discoloration on anything treated with it and isn’t harmful if inhaled by humans (although breathing in too much could lead to coughing). It also doesn’t require any special equipment like baits have; just scatter some around wherever you’ve seen an ant problem occur before so they’ll come across it while exploring new territory outside their nest site(s).
3. Make a “Magic” Mix
- The Magic Mix (or as some people call it, “ant bait”) consists of:
- 1 cup of boric acid powder or crystals
- 1/4 cup sugar (for the ants to feed on)
- 2 cups hot water
- Optional: A few drops of lemon juice to make it smell better!
- This can be made in a bowl or jar and stored in the pantry for later use. It is best if you mix up enough for several days at once since it will have time to work before you have a chance to apply more. You don’t want your ants coming back before they’re gone forever!
4. Mix Some Duct Tape
- Duct tape. This is a great method for killing ants with wings that may be coming from the outdoors (you know, those pesky little brown ones). All you have to do is cover the area where they are entering with duct tape and wait for them to die from dehydration.
This method can also be used on your own body if you want to prevent other types of ants from entering as well. For example, if you like going outside but don’t like having ants crawl all over your legs while doing so, simply apply some duct tape around them before putting on pants and shoes!
5. Add Some Cinnamon To The Mix
Add some cinnamon to the mix. Cinnamon is a natural ant repellent, and it won’t harm humans or animals while they’re eating it. It also has a lot of health benefits! Cinnamon can help with digestion and blood sugar levels, and it’s a good source of fiber and manganese. You can learn more about its other benefits here, but for now we just want you to know that ants love cinnamon too!
Get some cinnamon at any grocery store near you today (or online).
6. Sprinkle Some Powdered Sugar
- Sprinkle Some Powdered Sugar
This is a method that’s used in many parts of the world, and it works pretty well as long as you have ants. It works on two levels: firstly, it removes their waxy coating, which makes them very susceptible to moisture; secondly, it provides additional nourishment for them with the sugar they’ll eat while trying to get rid of their sticky bodies. The trick here is getting them to come out where you can see them so you can sprinkle them with sugar. You could just sprinkle some on your countertop and hope they get there (they will), but if you happen to have access to boiling water or steam right now, that would be ideal because it will make things easier for sure!
Just take some boiling water or steam and use a clean cloth or paper towel over top of where you want your powdery treat placed down; then let go once ready—but only after having given yourself ample time before releasing so nothing gets burned off prematurely! Letting go early may result in less than effective results due to not giving yourself enough time for optimal saturation levels.”
7. Spray The Flying Ants With Vinegar
Vinegar is a natural ant killer, and it’s one of the best ways to kill ants. In fact, vinegar is so effective that you can use it to get rid of all sorts of pests (including roaches, spiders and scorpions) without harming anything else in your home. Vinegar is safe for use around kids and pets because it won’t hurt them if they come in contact with it during application; however, since vinegar has an unpleasant odor (and taste), we recommend wearing gloves when handling this product.
Vinegar comes in many different varieties; apple cider vinegar offers the highest concentration of acetic acid—the compound that kills ants—but white distilled vinegar also works well for killing flying ants.
These methods will get rid of the ants and keep them from coming back
These methods are not just for flying ants, but for all ants. These methods will get rid of them and keep them from coming back:
- With a fine sprayer or hose, spray your plants with soapy water. The aphids will die, but the ants won’t be able to find new ones as easily.
- You can also use baits like sugar water or borax mixed with honey that contains boric acid powder in it (putting plastic wrap over the container will keep children from eating it).
- If you don’t want to bait your plants yourself, there are commercial products available at home improvement stores that contain actual poisons so that harmful chemicals won’t be on your hands when you touch the plants. These insecticides usually come in small boxes with instructions on how much to use per gallon of water; just make sure not to get any on yourself!
