I found a dead bed bug today. That’s the important part. I didn’t give much thought to it as I reset my clock radio and went on with my day. My mind was on a meeting I had in just under an hour. It wasn’t until later that day that I started thinking more about this bed bug. Emerging from my bedroom this morning, I came across a dead bed bug. It couldn’t have been more than five minutes since I was in there getting dressed. I stood there staring at it as if waiting for it to come back to life. But of course I knew it wouldn’t. A well-fed female bed bug can lay up to 250 eggs during her lifespan. That’s a lot considering bed bugs only live from four to six months. They can lay anywhere from one to five eggs per day.

Because they can produce so many offspring, it’s crucial for you to take even one dead bed bug seriously. If you let it go without taking measures to stop it, one bed bug can turn into a full-blown infestation.
