Flea season is in full swing, and I’m here to help you determine if your dog has fleas. If you’re thinking it’s more than just a coincidence that your furry friend has been itching a lot lately…maybe even biting at his fur or scratching to the point of creating bald spots, maybe he’s got fleas. The first signs that a dog has fleas–flea bites. A dog being bitten by fleas will become irritated by the bites which he will scratch and bite at his fur to relieve himself. A dog that is scratching himself frequently may be suffering from fleas. Fleas are small insects, usually dark brown or black in color, that live off the blood of their victims (that’s right, you heard me; your dog’s blood stops being sacred when it comes to flea attacks). Did you know dogs can have fleas? I didn’t and I didn’t realize just how much they could molt and get rid of like egg sacs, mites and ticks. In fact, they can get rid of these things so quickly my vet says there is no point in treating them as it would be a waste of money. My vet recommends applying some kind of protection against them running out of their own accord.
How Do You Know A Dog Has Fleas

When you have a dog, you know that you need to take care of it. If your dog has fleas, you will notice them because they will be visible. They can look like little bugs or like a tiny black dot on your dog’s coat. You will also notice that the fleas are always moving around, which makes them different from other insects that are on your dog’s body.

If you have a new puppy and want to know if he has fleas, then check out his coat; if it looks like it has been freshly washed, then there is no need to worry about this problem because he does not have any live flea eggs on his body yet. However, if the coat looks dirty or matted up then there may be some flea eggs present on his body which means they are hatching soon so make sure you treat them quickly before they start hatching into adults You can tell your dog has fleas because it will have a unique set of symptoms.
First, your dog will be scratching itself constantly. This is not normal for most dogs, and if you see this behavior, it’s likely that your dog has fleas.
Second, when you look at the fur on your dog, there may be tiny black specks on it. These are flea droppings or eggs that have fallen off of a female flea as they were laying their eggs in the fur of your dog.
Finally, if you see blood spots on the fur of your dog, this could also be a sign that they have fleas. If you notice any of these signs, it is likely that your dog has fleas and you should take it to the vet immediately!
