Bed Bug Experts
In the US, bed bugs are generally seen as more of an aesthetic problem than a health problem. However, if you’re one of those people who react adversely to bites or have been bitten by bed bugs in the past, it’s important to know how to treat them and prevent their return.
As a homeowner you can tackle this project yourself but we recommend hiring professionals for both treatment and prevention services.
Tips to Avoid Bugs
- Avoid buying used furniture. Bed bugs can live for months without a host, but they’re usually found on or near a bed or couch.
- Keep your luggage off the floor and inspect it regularly for signs of bedbugs. You don’t want to bring them home with you from your next trip!
- Use mattress and box spring covers to prevent bedbugs from getting into your bed and living there undetected.
- Don’t pick up infested clothing or other items (like stuffed animals) unless they are sealed in plastic bags—even if they seem clean.
- Inspect hotels thoroughly before checking in; look for bloodstains on sheets, mattress seams that seem worn out, and stains on carpeting near the floorboards where bugs hide during daylight hours (they sometimes come out at night).
Bed Bug Inspection
Bed Bug Inspection
Bed bug inspections are key in determining the extent of a bed bug infestation. Our inspectors are trained and certified to perform thorough, reliable inspections. Our inspections are also affordable, residential and commercial. We do not use any invasive techniques during our inspections. Only non-invasive inspection equipment is used so as not to cause unnecessary damage or take up too much of your time. The entire process can be done within one hour!
Avoid the hassle of bed bug bites.
Bed bugs are tiny, wingless insects that feed on the blood of humans and animals. During the day, they hide in cracks and crevices around your home. They can be found in the seams of mattresses, box springs, bed frames, headboards and furniture; along baseboards; behind window blinds or pictures; inside outlets; electrical boxes and along wall voids under sinks or behind toilets. Bed bugs are not known to spread disease but their bites can cause itching and welts on exposed skin which may become infected if scratched.
The best way to prevent a bed bug infestation is by inspecting your luggage before you travel so you don’t bring them home with you from an infested site or from borrowed items such as clothes or furniture that may have been used at an infested location. Inspecting your clothing for traces of bed bug feces (small black dots) and eggs also helps prevent bringing them into your home accidentally as well as using mattress covers with zipper closures will keep them out of the inner spring coils where they congregate during the daytime hours when people are asleep
