Some believe that the pesticides can prove to be useless at times or can prove to be harmful for the earth whereas some others believe that with proper knowledge, proper application and mitigation of risks, pesticides can be of use. It is a known fact that pests in farms can cause huge losses in terms of human lives as well as crop productivity. There was a time when we did not have the technology to develop known pesticides. This occurred before we had an understanding of diseases and the ways that insects can be harmful to agriculture. The use of these chemicals is now strictly regulated and can be very expensive, but there is still a big role for them in modern pesticide applications.

Animal science covers livestock production including beekeeping and poultry raising.

Agricultural technology has greatly improved over the last two centuries. People have been able to grow food faster than ever before with the use of fertilizers and pesticides. Fertilizers help plants absorb nutrients from the soil so that they can grow better and faster than normal. Pesticides are used for killing pests that eat crops before they are harvested by farmers or consumers.

Pesticide is a substance that kills pests and weeds. It is a chemical substance used to control or destroy insects, animals and plants that are considered as harmful or undesirable in agriculture. In agriculture, pesticides are applied to protect crops from damaging organisms. This also helps to maintain the growth of crops by controlling the population of unwanted organisms such as weeds, fungi, bacteria, viruses and insects. Pesticides can be natural or synthetic in nature. Synthetic pesticides are man-made chemicals which are produced artificially in laboratory setting while natural pesticides are obtained from natural sources such as plants, animals and minerals.
