Everyone hates bed bugs. They destroy your sleep and make you itch like crazy. I am writing this article because I just want to know what Dr. Suess would say about them. I want him to count them, measure them and weigh them. He would then look at the stats and come up with a funny answer to their suffering. It wasn’t so long ago that bed bugs were considered a nuisance. A bed bug is a flattened, oval-shaped insect that is brown in color and about the size of a penny. Bed bugs are an annoyance for you, but also for your pet. Take precautions so you don’t get infested with these lonely critters! I was scrolling the net one day, and I happened upon a hilarious picture of a bed bug, and that sparked my imagination to write another silly bed bug poem.

The Problem

What are bed bugs?

Bed bugs are tiny insects that feed on the blood of humans and animals. They range in length from 1/4 inch to 7/8 inch, and they can be anywhere from a light yellowish-brown to dark reddish-brown in color. Because they feed on blood, bed bugs can cause skin irritations and allergic reactions in some people. Bed bugs usually have six legs and their bodies are flat, oval-shaped and somewhat transparent.

The Problem

Bed Bugs are tiny insects that live in cracks or crevices near where you sleep—like your mattress or box spring (or under nearby furniture)…They tend to hide during the day; they come out at night to hunt for food—typically human blood! Bedbugs feed every five minutes or so during each meal; an adult female may suck up to 7 times per day! As she feeds, she injects saliva into her victim’s skin which contains anesthetic—this makes it hurt less when she bites you (and also helps stop bleeding).

The Solution

To avoid being fooled by bed bugs, you must learn how to identify them. Bed bug identification is not as easy as it sounds though.

In general terms, a bed bug can be described as a small brownish insect that feeds on human blood during the night (usually when the host is asleep). They are flat and wingless with no visible eyes or legs. Because of their size and appearance, other insects may be mistaken for bed bugs such as Indian meal moths or carpet beetles that tend to be smaller in size than regular adult female bed bugs (about 1/4th inch long) but larger than male ones (about 3/16ths of an inch long).

Bed bugs have been around since ancient times but did not become important until more recently when they became a common household pest throughout North America and Europe due to increased international travel and transportation activity over time periods where large groups of people would stay at hotels or motels together overnight before moving on again.

Bed bugs don’t discriminate. They don’t care if you are rich or poor, or if you live in a mansion or a trailer park, or a dorm room at college. They also can be found in clean places as well as dirty places, since they will feed on any blood source offered to them—human or animal. And that makes it hard for people to understand how they got bed bugs in the first place!

Bed bugs were once thought of as an issue only associated with lower income neighborhoods and homes where there was little concern for sanitation and cleanliness. While this is true in some cases, bed bugs can be found just about anywhere now (and still often are), including single family homes as well as hotels and motels around the world.

This is a great time to remind you that bed bugs are not funny.

Bed bugs are not the cute little creatures that live in your mattress. They don’t deliver mail or sneak into your bedroom at night where they read to you and sing songs while they sleep. Bed bugs aren’t even animals—they’re bugs! And they aren’t even insects, either; they’re arachnids, more closely related to spiders than ants or butterflies (which are insects).

Bed bugs can be creepy and scary because of their appearance and behavior, but these facts don’t make them funny. The fact that there’s an entire industry devoted to making fun of people with bedbug infestations makes it worse—and if you’ve ever had one yourself (or at least heard someone else’s story), then you know how much damage this type of humor can do when it’s directed toward those who have suffered through this nightmare firsthand.
