You want something that can kill ticks and is safe for your pets.

Natural Tick Repellent For Yards

Pour liquid garlic directly on the lawn or dilute it in water in a spray bottle, and use it to spray the area.

You can also try spraying liquid garlic onto your lawn. Garlic is a natural pesticide, so if you have an outdoor space with lots of ticks, it’s worth trying this method.

Just be sure to dilute the garlic in water before spraying it out. Otherwise, you may end up with a very strong smell that lasts for weeks! If you’re planning on using this method on a windy day (which is best), make sure to lightly mist the garlic spray over your grass instead of dousing everything at once..

Insecticides containing permethrin or pyrethrin are effective at repelling ticks from your yard.

Another option is to spray your yard with a chemical that kills ticks, but these products may not be safe for children or pets. For example, permethrin is an effective ingredient in some insecticides used to kill ticks on your property. It’s also used in many anti-tick products designed for humans.

Permethrin can be toxic if you come into contact with it and can cause breathing problems if inhaled; it’s recommended that you wear protective clothing when spraying the chemical so you don’t get any on your skin or breathe any dust from the sprayer.

You should also avoid using pyrethrins, another common ingredient in tick repellents and insecticides. Pyrethrins are neurotoxins that attack nerve cells; they’re considered safe for most people when applied topically or taken orally in small doses (such as those found in herbal supplements), but they can be dangerous if ingested by young children or pets who might lick themselves after being sprayed by them.

Make your own with cedar oil.

To make this spray, you’ll need:

• A bottle of cedar oil. You can find this at most drugstores or online. It’s usually sold as a tea tree oil alternative in aromatherapy products.
• Water and a spray bottle (the kind that comes with a trigger).

To make the tick repellent, add about 10 drops of cedar oil to about 1 ounce of water in your spray bottle. For example, if you have an 8-ounce bottle, add 80 drops total (80/8 = 10). Give it a good shake before each use. Spray liberally on exposed skin every two hours during high-tick seasons—about once per day if you’re going outside for extended periods of time—and reapply after coming inside from being outdoors or swimming in fresh water.* Do not get the mixture into your eyes. If you do accidentally get some in your eyes, rinse immediately with cold water for 15 minutes.* Do not inhale vapors directly from the container!

Toxic pesticides aren’t necessary to get rid of ticks.

Ticks are parasitic arachnids that feed on the blood of mammals, birds and reptiles. Unlike fleas, ticks do not jump or fly. They only move when they’re attached to a host animal. The tick life cycle begins when an adult female lays eggs in the spring or summer months. These eggs hatch into larvae after about 10-12 days and then attach themselves to small rodents such as mice, squirrels or rabbits where they can remain for 2-3 years until they are big enough to start feeding on larger mammals such as deer and humans.

They spread diseases like Lyme disease (which can cause long-term pain) through their bite but also by depositing their eggs onto grasses where tiny larva hatch into nymphs which then burrow into your skin seeking out a blood meal from you!
