Tea tree oil is an effective bug repellent, as well as a natural insecticide. It can be used to ward off mosquitoes and other biting insects like black flies, fleas, ticks and mites. You can apply tea tree oil topically (external application) or ingest it internally in order to repel insects. If you choose to use tea tree oil externally on your skin as a bug repellent then first test the product on a small spot of skin before applying it all over your body in order to make sure that you don’t have any adverse reactions to the essential oil.
