Travelodge by Wyndham New York City Manhattan Fifth Avenue
- Date of Stay: We were staying on July 2nd-4th, 2017.
- Report: The hotel room was dirty and had bugs in it. There were long black hair all over the bathroom, a stain on the wall that looked like it was moldy or something, and dark spots on the carpet that looked like they came from blood or vomit. There was also an old half eaten piece of candy bar in a baggie on top of the bedside table (I’m not sure if this is normal at hotels but I’ve never seen it before).
- Response*: They sent an email with some excuses but then offered us another stay if we wanted! I’d rather not stay there anymore though since they didn’t clean anything after we left and just gave me a refund instead so… yeah..

Hotel Room 1808
Bed bug found in the bathroom sink. I stayed on the 18th floor of The Evelyn Hotel in Chelsea. When we were checking out, my boyfriend noticed some marks on his leg and it looked like a bed bug bite – no one else had been bitten during our stay (and they were not) so we suspect this came from inside the room rather than out in public somewhere else! We reported it to management and they said they’d send someone up to check for bugs but nothing came of it – maybe because our stay was over? Regardless, I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re concerned about bedbugs at all!

Bed bug type reported: Blood-sucking insect that feeds on human blood. Bedbugs can be found living in beds and other furniture where they hide during the day. They usually feed around dawn or dusk but may bite all day if hungry enough. Although they are not known to transmit disease like mosquitoes do, they can still cause itchy bites and skin rashes for people who are allergic to the bites. They also leave behind droppings that look like brownish red spots of dried blood on sheets and mattresses. Find out more about bed bugs here!
