How To Make A Wasp Trap

What you will need:

• A funnel
• A pan to cook it in.

2 Liter Bottle

You will want to use a 2 liter plastic soda bottle or water bottle. The smaller 1.5 liter size will work, but it is harder to fill. You’ll also need a straw and a sharpie marker for labeling the trap with its direction of travel (upstream or downstream).

If you can’t find an appropriate plastic bottle in your area, consider using an old glass juice bottle instead since it’s durable enough for reuse and has a wide enough mouth for easy filling with bait items like apple cider vinegar or honey mixed with some sweetener such as sugar or maple syrup.

Sugar

You’ll need a cup of sugar and a cup of water. Add the sugar to the water, stir until it’s dissolved, then let it cool.

Jelly (Grape)

The next step is to make the jelly. Place a small amount of water into a pan and heat it up until it simmers. Add the sugar and stir well until it dissolves completely.

Next, add your grape juice concentrate (or apple juice) and stir again until everything has dissolved. Next, turn off the heat but leave this mixture to cool down while you prepare your bottle trap.

Once cooled, test its consistency by pouring some onto a saucer or plate; if it holds its shape when you push it around with your finger then the jelly is ready for use! If not, continue cooking for another 10 minutes before testing again until you get a good consistency that can be poured easily into jars or bottles.

Afterwards pour into empty jars/bottles ensuring there are no air bubbles trapped inside by shaking them from side-to-side several times before leaving them upside down to drain for about 15 minutes (this will also help reduce any foam residue).

You’ll also need a saucepan for mixing the ingredients. Put all three ingredients into the saucepan, then turn on your stove and heat it over medium heat until it boils. Once everything is dissolved, add some extra water to dilute it even more so that there’s enough liquid to cover your wasps when they’re lured in by their delicious scent.

Once your trap has been set up and filled with wasps’ favorite treats, go outside and hang it from a tree branch where there is little risk of wind blowing them away.
