Bed Bug Signs On Pillow
Introduction
I want to share with you a real-world incident that happened not too long ago. A friend of mine was getting ready for work. He bent down to pick up his pillow, and saw on the side of it what he thought at first was a piece of fluff from his blanket. Upon further inspection, he realized that it was moving! Much to his horror, it turned out to be a bed bug!
What Do Bed Bugs Look Like?
Bed bugs are small, flat and oval-shaped. They’re about the size of an apple seed (1/4 inches long). You may see them in the folds and seams of your mattress or box spring, on or near any other furniture item.
They can be difficult to spot because they’re tiny, but when bed bugs feed on people they’ll leave behind small brownish red spots where they’ve been feeding. Bed bug bites also cause itching, swelling and irritation which could lead you to believe that you have another set of allergies or a skin rash. If you experience these symptoms while staying at an infested location you should look for signs of bed bugs right away so that you can get rid if them before they start spreading over your body
Bed Bug Eggs
Bed bug eggs are white and about the size of a pinhead. They are laid in batches, usually of up to 50 eggs. Bed bugs in all stages of development can be found near their favorite hiding place, which is typically near where people sleep. Eggs will hatch into nymphs in about 3-5 days and reach maturity in about 10 days. They feed on blood from humans or animals to survive and continue the life cycle. Bedbug eggs are laid by adult females after feeding on blood; they may produce as many as five eggs per day if conditions for survival are good for them (i.e., no pesticides applied).
Bedbug nymphs emerge from their eggs after three to five days as six-legged creatures with a distinctive red coloration caused by a pigment called fuchsin that they obtain from the dried blood meal taken shortly before hatching. As they grow larger during molting cycles over several weeks’ time until reaching maturity after 17 days at which point they will have lost their bright red coloration altogether along with two obvious characteristics: long antennae extending well past their bodies plus tail-like appendages called cerci located at each end of said antennas–both gone forever!
Bed Bug Bites
Bed bug bites are very itchy. They can appear in a line or a cluster. Because these bites look similar to other kinds of insect bites, it is possible to mistake them for mosquito, flea or chigger (midge) bites. If you try to treat bed bug bites with over-the-counter creams or lotions without knowing that you have bed bugs and the reason why they are attacking you in the first place, then your situation will only get worse.

Blood Spots On Pillow Cases
When bed bugs bite, they often leave a small red spot that may be itchy. This can be confused with some other types of bug bites, such as mosquito bites or spider bites.
Bite reactions vary from person to person and can range from mild irritation to extreme itching. Some people are not allergic to bed bugs, so their bites do not cause any symptoms at all.
In general, bed bug bites are not dangerous but should still be treated so you can avoid the uncomfortable itching associated with them. A simple home remedy for itching is applying hydrogen peroxide on the affected area; this will stop the itching in most cases and allow you to sleep better at night
Skin Castings
Skin castings are the bed bug’s waste, and they look like small, dark brown spots. These tiny little dots can be anywhere from the size of a pinhead to less than half that size. You’ll find skin castings on your sheets and pillows—and sometimes even on your clothing if you’ve been sleeping in the same bed with an infestation.
Skin castings are by far the most reliable sign of a bed bug infestation you’ll find; however, it’s important to remember that not all skin castings have been produced by actual bed bugs! If you have pets or children who stay overnight at home with you, they may produce similar-looking stains when they shed their fur or leave behind urine stains on your sheets. If this happens often enough and seems like too much of a coincidence to be true (especially if there isn’t any evidence of any insects), then it’s possible that what looks like skin casting might actually just be hair or urine stains instead!
Shed Skins
The bed bug’s exoskeleton is shed as it grows. If you find a little brownish-white, flat piece of material in your pillow’s corner or underneath it, this could be a bed bug skin. The size of the skin is about that of a grain of rice and will have a shiny appearance to it. The best way to confirm whether or not these are bed bug skins is by looking at them under a microscope; this can give you an exact identification as well as tell you how old they are (younger than one year old = juvenile).
Bed Bug Feces On Pillow
Bed bug feces are dark brown or black and shaped like rice grains. They are dried blood and can be found on the bed or bedding, but not on your body. If you spot them on your pillow, it’s possible that you have an infestation.
The most solid sign of bed bugs is the pillow.
Bed bug feces are black or brown and stain the fabric of your pillow. They look like solid black or brown droppings, not smears, making them easy to spot on a pillowcase. Bed bugs that have hitched a ride on your clothing can also be found in the seams of jackets, t-shirts and pants; they only exist in these places when they are active or have recently fed.
