Baby Safe Bug Repellent
1/2 cup witch hazel
Witch hazel is a natural astringent that’s been used for centuries. It’s found in many cosmetics, including toners and lotions, and you can find it at most grocery stores or drugstores. It’s also one of the ingredients in this baby safe bug repellent recipe!
To make it, simply add 1/2 cup witch hazel to 4 cups water in a spray bottle. Shake well before each use—you don’t have to shake harder than you would with other liquids like dish soap or rubbing alcohol; just give small shakes until everything is mixed together.
30 drops of essential oils (I used this blend, but you can use any kind)
To make this recipe, combine 30 drops of essential oils with 1 oz. (30ml) of base oil or water. I used doTERRA’s Purification essential oil blend but you can use any other type of bug repellent oil blends like Citronella or Lemongrass.
Do not use essential oils that are citrus based-they are photosensitive and will increase the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight!
