Yes, you can use baking soda and salt to kill fleas. Just mix 1/2 cup of baking soda with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and sprinkle it in the areas where your pet spends a lot of time. The salt dehydrates the fleas and makes them easier to vacuum up; the baking soda helps kill eggs that are already in your carpet. Baking soda traditionally takes longer than household vinegar to clean blood stains out of fabric, but this method is worth a try Both baking soda and salt are commonly used against fleas. While some people seem to think that using only one of these products will be enough, it’s a better idea to use both at the same time in order to kill off all existing fleas as well as their eggs. You can also use salt on your pets themselves to help kill any fleas they happen to have picked up when outside wandering around. To make sure that you get rid of all the fleas, you should repeat the treatment every few weeks until there is no sign of them on either yourself or your pet. A good way to do this is by vacuuming your pet’s bedding once a week; this will suck up any fleas or eggs that may be present while removing loose dirt and dust at the same time

Baking Soda And Salt Fleas
How does it work?
Baking soda is a natural alternative to chemical sprays, which can be harmful for you and your pets. Salt is also a natural insecticide and it’s easy to use, cheap and safe for both humans and pets.
Salt has been used as an insecticide since ancient times. It is effective because fleas will die when they come into contact with salt water or salt crystals on their body.
You can use salt on dogs directly by sprinkling some into the coat of your dog or cat, but it’s best if you mix it with water first before applying it to the animal’s fur so that the proper concentration of salt reaches all parts of their skin and hair.
What about cats?
Although this method is a great way to rid your home of fleas, it’s important to keep in mind that it is not good for cats. Cats are very sensitive to salt and baking soda, so leaving those ingredients out where they can find them may cause serious harm.
Additionally, this method is not recommended for dogs either—although it will work just fine on them (even groomers use this method), there are other natural remedies that can be used instead that will be safer and easier on their skin while still providing the same level of effectiveness.
This method may also be too harsh for humans as well; if you have sensitive skin or respiratory issues, we recommend trying something else instead.
Does the salt kill the fleas?
The salt doesn’t kill the fleas. It’s used to dry out the water in the flea larvae and make them stop feeding.
How do I use it?
Once you’ve determined where the fleas are most likely to be found, and cleaned those areas thoroughly, you can begin using the baking soda and salt mixture. This can be done by mixing equal parts salt and baking soda in a bowl or large dish of some kind. To apply the mixture, use a hand sifter or sprinkle it around your home as evenly as possible. Be sure that all areas where pets frequent are covered by this mixture; fleas tend to hide in dark corners of rooms often far away from their host animals.
Once applied, let the mixture sit for at least three days before vacuuming it up (make sure you vacuum both carpets and floors). Repeat this process every three days until no more fleas appear on your animals’ bodies.
Baking soda and salt are effective in killing off fleas in your home, but they don’t have anything to do with pet fleas.
Baking soda and salt are effective in killing off fleas in your home, but they don’t have anything to do with pet fleas.
The treatments that work on dog, cat and human fleas are usually those that kill the eggs as well as the adult parasites. They include insect growth regulators (IGRs) such as Lufenuron (Program), Spinosad (Comfortis) or Oxythioquinox, which paralyzes adult fleas when it comes in contact with them. IGRs disrupt the life cycle of ticks and ticks only; they do not affect other insects such as mosquitoes or flies so should not be used for these purposes.
