Bed Bug Free Certification
Bed bugs
Bed bugs are small, flat, wingless insects that feed exclusively on the blood of animals. Bed bugs and their relatives have evolved as nest parasites. Though they are a nuisance to humans, they do not transmit disease.
There has been a recent resurgence in bed bug infestations worldwide, especially in countries where they have never been common before. The upside is that people are becoming more aware of these tiny creatures and how best to get rid of them—but what exactly do you need to know?
Bed bugs are reddish brown or dark mahogany in colour (depending on how recently they’ve fed). They’re about 4 millimetres long when fully grown, with oval bodies and six legs – three being longer than the other three so that they can grip onto whatever surface it lands on as it moves around its host (you!) at night for food! Bedbugs only live for about five months – but this means if one does manage to sneak into your home undetected; there may be hundreds more hiding out somewhere else…
Complaints
In our experience, complaints are not always accurate. They can be exaggerated and sometimes even false. For example, there may be a customer who had an infestation and thinks that it’s the landlord’s fault for not providing them with an adequate pest control service or exterminator.
You must always take complaints seriously and investigate them thoroughly before making any decisions about your business operations or customers.
Inspections
We provide bed bug inspections using a visual inspection method, which is the standard method used by pest control professionals. This method involves inspecting all areas of the bed and mattress where bed bugs may hide. In addition, we inspect linens and clothes in closets or drawers that are often infested with these pests.
We are also able to perform black light inspections in order to identify areas where there may be evidence of bed bugs present on walls, floors or other locations within your home.
Training
Training
Training is done in two parts. The first part is the training class and the second part is the certification test. Training classes are offered in person, but can also be taken online. The following topics are covered during this training period:
The life cycle of bedbugs
How to identify bedbugs, eggs, nymphs and adult stages
Where they hide
The signs that you have a bedbug infestation
Heat Treatments
Heat treatment is a safe and effective way to kill bedbugs, as it heats the entire home or apartment to temperatures that are lethal to bedbugs. Heat treatments can be used on any type of building (apartments, condos, houses) and can be done in one day–a faster and cheaper option than other options. In addition, heat treatment is non-toxic and environmentally friendly.
Travel
Bedbugs can be picked up on your travels. Bedbugs are “hitchhikers” and can be picked up on your clothes, in hotel rooms, or even in the car. They feed on people and will bite you when they have the chance.
Fortunately for us, there are many ways to avoid bringing bedbugs home with you:
- Ask about bedbug infestations before booking a hotel room or staying at someone’s house (if it isn’t already known).
- Inspect places you’re staying for signs of an infestation (look under beds and furniture). If possible, check with neighbors of the places where you may be staying to see if they have seen any bedbugs there recently (or ever!).
- Pack items loosely so that clothing doesn’t touch other clothing or other objects inside your suitcase; otherwise, it’s possible for bugs to make their way from one item onto another—and into your luggage!
Bed Bug Free Certification helps businesses, hotels, and apartments become bedbug free.
A business should be certified as bed bug free if it wants to avoid lawsuits and save money, maintain its reputation and protect its investment. Bed Bug Free Certification helps businesses achieve this by providing them with a seal of approval that shows their customers that they are taking the necessary steps to protect them from bedbugs.
The cost for certification is usually between $250-$300 per apartment or other commercial property, but it’s worth it because Bed Bug Free Certification works! If you have been in business for more than three months and have not been able to eliminate the problem completely or do not have a plan in place, then you need help!
