Bed bugs or bedbug like bugs are referred to as Cimex lectularius. The scientific name is unique as Cimex. When exposed to light the bed bug like bug turns reddish brown. Bedbugs have existed since historical times, but it was not until the late 1700s that they started to understand more about these pests. Did you just find some “bed bugs” in your home? Unfortunately, you might be dealing with bed bug-like bugs which are not actual bed bugs. Bed bug-like bugs come from the cimicid family which do include bed bugs, but these pests have developed a similar appearance to try and avoid getting killed. No one wants to be bugged by bed bugs. Bed Bugs are very irritating, and you should take steps to make your home bug-free as soon as possible, because they tend to invade houses faster than you can imagine. There are several tips that can prevent bed bugs from coming inside your home. In addition, you can detect the bedbugs before they get a chance to bite you.

Bed Bug Like Bugs

Chiggers

Chigger bites, also known as red bugs or harvest mites, are not bed bugs. Chiggers are small red mites that live in grassy areas and reproduce at such a rapid rate that they can cause a person to itch for several weeks after being bitten. Chiggers will not bite through clothing, but they may be able to climb up your pants leg if it is rolled up or tucked into socks. It’s possible for chigger bites to occur on any part of the body that comes into contact with grassy areas or weeds where chiggers reside; however, people most commonly experience bites on their legs and feet because these areas are likely exposed during outdoor activities such as hiking or gardening.

Chigger bites cause itching similar to mosquito bites; however, unlike mosquitoes (which inject you with an anti-coagulant), chiggers do not inject anything into your skin upon biting you—they just use their sharp mouthparts to pierce the epidermis so they can suck blood from beneath it (and leave behind two little black dots). The human immune system reacts by releasing histamines which cause swelling and irritation around where each bite occurred; this reaction occurs both at the site of each bite itself as well as near joints where many nerves connect together near our skin surface so we often notice swelling in those areas too! Chigger bites tend to look like clusters of very tiny blisters surrounded by redness (as if someone took a pinprick tool filled with black ink then pressed down firmly onto our skin). If left untreated over time these clusters grow larger causing even more pain than usual due to increased inflammation at those locations too–this cycle continues until either treatment takes effect or until enough time passes without activity level raising body temperature significantly enough for new generations of adult female chiggers (who don’t have wings) begin laying eggs again…

Fleas

The presence of fleas in your home can cause severe itching, which is why it is important to know what signs indicate that you have them. When you enter a room where there are fleas, they jump onto your body and bite into the skin. This can be avoided by using a flea comb to determine whether or not you have fleas in your house.

If you find any bugs on the comb, these are most likely adult fleas; look for eggs as well if possible (they will appear as tiny white dots) because these will hatch into new adult insects within days or weeks if they’re not dealt with immediately. If you find eggs on the comb, it means that there is an infestation in progress! You should treat both inside and outside areas around your home immediately—keep in mind that even if all areas inside seem clean and vacuumed up properly (and all furniture has been thoroughly treated), ticks remain hidden during winter months until springtime comes around again when they emerge from hiding once more!

Mites

Mite bites can be difficult to distinguish from flea bites. They cause skin irritation, but do not spread disease. Mites are commonly found in animal bedding and bird nests. For example, house dust mites feed on dead skin cells shed by humans and animals and live in house dust, while bat mites feed on blood meals from bats that have been infected with bat lyssavirus (rare).

Bedding infested with mites may need to be discarded or treated if possible. The insecticide permethrin will kill most mites; however it is toxic for people and pets so use caution when applying it around them!
