Bedbugs are a huge problem for travellers. The more common they become, the more people have to worry when they’re staying in a hotel room. Bedbugs can be almost anywhere: dorm rooms, airplanes and trains, hotels, homes and apartments. A bad infestation of bed bugs can ruin your trip or break your bank if you live in an apartment.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites SALT LAKE CITY EAST-TRAX

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Salt Lake City East-Trax is a hotel located in the downtown area of Salt Lake City. It is close to many popular attractions, including the Salt Palace Convention Center and Temple Square.

Inspections were conducted on May 12th and 13th after guests complained about bites from bed bugs that they believed came from this hotel. Inspectors found bed bugs in three rooms during these inspections: Room 304, Room 307, and Room 311 (all on the first floor).

The facility manager immediately called an exterminator who sprayed all affected rooms with insecticide that kills both adult bed bugs and eggs. They also inspected three other guest rooms on both floors (Rooms 302, 309, 312) but did not find any problems with those rooms’ furnishings or mattresses/boxsprings.

Safety tips for staying at hotels:

• Check for signs of infestation before you stay at a hotel; check carefully under sheets and around headboards where you might not see them otherwise! If there are any signs of an infestation (like blood spots), ask for another room immediately or find another place altogether!
• Pack light when visiting hotels; put everything into suitcases or duffel bags as opposed to checking bags into storage closets inside each room because these closets can be very hard to clean if they’re infested with bed bugs! This way it’s easier to inspect all your belongings thoroughly before unpacking them again later on—and if there are any problems then they’ll be easier too fix before they get worse.”

While the Sleep Inn & Suites Airport is a fine place to stay, it’s not the best option for someone who is concerned about bed bugs. The hotel has been cited in several reports as having a history of bed bug infestation.

Room tip: If you’re staying at this hotel for more than one night, I recommend upgrading to a suite unless your room has been recently renovated or refurbished because the standard rooms are small and outdated. The suite is large enough to comfortably accommodate 4 people and will give you more space in which to relax while on vacation in Utah!

Extended Stay America – Salt Lake City – East Millcreek

I stayed at this hotel for one week. I was there on business, and because it was a last minute trip, I had no other options or time to find a better place. We stayed in room 121.

I woke up on the second night with bites all over my body and noticed that some of my colleagues were also being bitten. I brought this up with the front desk staff who claimed they had never heard of bed bugs in their hotel before but would send someone up to check our room for any signs of them (which never happened). When we came back from dinner later that evening, we found blood stains on the sheets which looked like they were from small animals being torn apart by something very sharp! The next day when we got back from work again, there was another dead animal in our room! This time it looked like a rat or raccoon as its head was missing, but we still have no idea what happened to it since none of us killed anything while staying here…

Best Western Plus Landing View Inn & Suites

It is important to note that though the reports were made in a timely manner, many of the complaints were from multiple persons. One person might have seen bed bugs on their own and then spread the word to friends or family who stay at the same hotel, causing a cluster of bug complaints.

This hotel has also received positive reviews from guests who claim they did not see any signs of bed bugs during their stay. However, if you are traveling with young children or those who are sensitive to this type of infestation, it is recommended that you inspect your room prior to entering it so as not to disturb any eggs or adult insects that may be present inside your luggage upon arrival at your destination

Comfort Suites Airport West Valley City

Bed bugs were found behind the headboard. There were also cockroaches. I had to move to a different room and that one wasn’t as bad but I still had to sleep with luggage away from the bed.

Motel 6 Salt Lake City South – Midvale

The Motel 6 Salt Lake City South – Midvale is located at 1000 West Fort Union Blvd. in Midvale, Utah 84047. The hotel offers a continental breakfast and free WiFi.

There is a swimming pool, a hot tub and barbecue facilities on site for guests to use.

The staff at this Motel 6 are friendly and helpful, but there were no other customers staying here when I was visiting the area. My room was clean, but the bed sheets were stained with blood from previous occupants of my room (I had to call down to request new sheets). The air conditioning unit was loud, so I could not sleep well because of it. There were several large bugs crawling around my room which concerned me because they might also be bed bugs!

The building itself looks old and worn out as does much of southeastern Utah; however many people love that aesthetic! Parking is available behind each row of rooms so it may be difficult if there are many cars parked back there since you have walk past them in order get into your vehicle safely without being hit by another car backing out while trying not to trip over any stray debris left behind by previous guests such as dirty laundry bags filled with clothes that should have been washed before checkout time (this happened during my stay!).

• Several detailed reports of bed bugs in this hotel.
• Look for the tell-tale signs of bed bugs – they look like small copper-colored dots, usually clustered behind the head or shoulder area. If you see them, report them immediately!
• Contact the hotel directly and ask to speak with someone about your concerns. Be specific about what you saw and where it was located in the room–for example, “In our room we found bedbugs near the baseboards.”

It is not advised to stay in any of the above listed hotels.

Bed bugs are not the kind of creature that you want to be around. They can cause severe itching and rashes, which is why it’s important to get rid of them as soon as possible:

• The first step is to find out if you have bed bugs or not. If there are any signs of bed bugs in your hotel room, leave immediately and report your experience to someone at the front desk or management office.
• After leaving the hotel room, check for bites on your body and if any appear on your skin then contact with a doctor right away because those may be bite marks from these parasites!
