Cockroaches can be a common household pest. Maybe you have them, maybe you don’t, but today my frinds that’s not going to matter because this article is about how to cook cockroaches. Despite having an awesome name for a blog post, I don’t want to talk about how to cook cockroaches. Rather, I want to discuss when naming your business is appropriate or not. Before we get too far into our discussion, I want to state right off the bat that there are no hard and fast rules for when a business should or shouldn’t have a clever name like OKCupid or Cockroach Central. However the reason I bring up this topic is that while working with dozens of clients and hundreds of new businesses, I see a trend where folks tend not to realize just how important their business name can be, or even more importantly, why and when using words like “cockroaches” might actually be a brilliant idea.

One of my first jobs was doing this for a farmer’s market on the weekends. I had to collect around 50 pounds of roaches per weekend, but I made $250 a week so I didn’t really care. The best way to do it is from a pet shop–they are bred specifically for live food. They cost about $3-4 a piece (though the more you buy at once, the cheaper each piece becomes). It’s easy to catch them, just get some oatmeal, boil it, and let it cool. Put some oatmeal in tissue boxes and put them out. Cockroaches are attracted to decaying material, they’ll be drawn to the oatmeal and stumble into the tissue box. After you capture them (5-10 minutes of work) drop them into an airtight container with holes drilled in the lid (to give them air). Be sure to keep them in a dark place during transport unless you want your customers to see what they’re buying!
How To Cook Cockroaches
