Holes, cracks, crevices and other small openings in the walls, floors and even inside the furniture make perfect places for them to hide .In an effort to keep your house clean, you might be using products that actually attract pests. In this article, you will learn in great detail how to get rid of ants in the house, and stop them from coming back.
How To Kill Black Ants In The House
Catching The Queen
The queen ant is the only ant that can lay eggs, so it’s important to keep your eye on her. The queen is generally the largest and most distinct member of a colony. She has wings, a larger body, longer thorax and legs than her worker ants do. You’ll want to catch her before she starts laying eggs again!
When you find your ant’s nest (see section on “Finding Your Ant Nest”), flush out all of the workers with water or spray them with an insecticide like Raid® Ant & Roach Killer Aerosol Spray. If necessary, use a blow dryer to completely dry out their nest if they’re hiding in an area where there isn’t much moisture (such as under appliances).
Using A Terro Ant Bait
Ants are a nuisance to have in the house because they can cause damage, and they’re also very annoying. There are several ways that you can kill black ants in the house, but one method is using Terro Ant Bait. The first thing to do is find out where ants are living in your home and then place bait traps there.
Terro ant bait comes in a small container with a plastic top that has holes on it. When you open this little container, you will see three different pieces of food inside: peanut butter, sugar, and borax powder (or Boraxo®). You will need to mix all three ingredients together until they form one sticky substance that looks like brown goo on top of some white granules at the bottom (borax powder). Once mixed properly (about 1/4 cup of each ingredient), put this mixture into small containers or jars with holes punched into them so that ants can get access easily when they walk over them while looking for food sources outside your home’s perimeter edges where they normally hang around during warmer months when temperatures rise above 70 degrees Fahrenheit outside!
Make sure these containers are placed at least six feet away from any plants as well since this stuff could harm some vegetation if used incorrectly by accidently spilling some onto nearby greenery without knowing what effects might ensue – especially during rainy seasons where moisture levels increase significantly during summer months due to increased humidity levels which would then make conditions even worse
Using Glass Cleaner Spray
To make the spray, mix equal parts water and glass cleaner. Spray the ants with the mixture. Repeat as necessary. Be sure to spray your queen so she doesn’t get away!
Boiling Hot Water
Boiling water is an effective way to kill black ants in your house, but be sure to take precautions when using it. If you have children or pets, keep them away from the area while boiling water and do not pour the hot water on wood surfaces. Also make sure that no one is standing near any open flames as boiling water can cause a fire if spilled.
If there are several nests around your home, then you may need to repeat this process a few times over several days in order to completely eliminate all of them.
With a little patience you can certainly eradicate these pests.
There are many ways to get rid of ants in the home. The most effective way is to use a combination of strategies, including baits and sprays. However, if you don’t want to use any chemicals or poisons around your house, you can still get rid of these pests by applying boric acid paste or powder directly onto their trails.
There are several different types of ant killers available at your local hardware store:
- Bait stations (metal cans with holes) filled with bait that should be placed at least 6 inches away from areas where ants come into contact with food or water sources;
- Ant traps containing attractants such as food scraps and sweeteners;
- Baits for individual insects such as cheddar cheese chunks;
- Attracts & Kills – Kills common household ants including acrobat, crazy, ghost, little black, odorous house, pavement, and other sweet-eating ants
- Kills the Ants You See & the Ones You Don’t – As worker ants discover the bait, they share it with the rest of the colony to eliminate them all
- Works Fast – You should see a significant decrease in the number of ants visiting the bait stations within just a few days
- Ready to Use – Place the bait stations, watch it attract ants, and eliminate the entire colony
- Use Throughout Your Home – Place stations near areas where you’ve seen ant activity including along baseboards, in corners, on counters, and more
