I was contributing to a household of three (not including our two dogs and cat) and found myself in an endless, mind-numbing battle with these pesky creatures. It affected the whole household. I would find them “swimming” in the bathtub, hiding in my clothes closet, and on my kitchen counters! Believing you don’t have fleas is a huge mistake. The only thing I could think of doing was trying to get rid of fleas in the house, but I didn’t know where to start. Fleas are hard to detect because they are so small. They can hide anywhere, but they love dark, damp places like carpeting, mattresses, and upholstered furniture. If you do find one in your home, you should make sure to thoroughly vacuum your entire home at least once a week. Vacuum daily if possible. I have 3 cats that get fleas. That’s just part of being a cat owner along with the litter box and scooping it out about every day. But it was getting out of hand. I started noticing fleas not only on there but on my skin as well and didn’t like that at all. I read an article once about how when you have pets that get fleas they can jump very easily from your pet to you which is why it’s important to treat them. If you want to kill fleas in your house, you want to be very sure the area outside is completely cleared of the fleas. Not only are the fleas interested in your home but they can also get back outside. The good news is there are a number of ways to kill fleas…
How To Kill Fleas In My House
A flea infestation can be an extremely frustrating and persistent problem.
If you have fleas in your home, it can be frustrating and a bit overwhelming. It may seem like an impossible task to get rid of the fleas once and for all. However, there are numerous methods that can help you eliminate these pests from your house so that you can breathe easier knowing that your family isn’t being bitten by unseen bugs at night or scratching uncontrollably during the day.
There are many different types of flea infestations. Some people find themselves dealing with an infestation outdoors while others experience issues indoors only (or vice versa). Regardless of where the problem lies, it is important to do whatever possible to eliminate these pests as soon as possible before they cause further damage to humans or pets living within close proximity of one another!
If left unchecked over time though, these pesky critters will continue reproducing at a rapid rate until eventually reaching their natural maximum capacity limit (usually around 100-200 total per square meter). Once this happens then repair work must begin immediately before any additional complications arise such as sicknesses caused directly by contact with human blood stream fluids or through indirect transmission routes such as direct contact between infected individuals who indirectly affect other nearby susceptible parties via shared air space proximity zones within residential areas located near water sources such as lakes/rivers etcetera…
You may have tried poison or pesticide, but the fleas just keep coming back.
It’s not uncommon for people to use poison or pesticide to kill fleas. Some might even try something like flea bombs, but these methods just don’t work.
This is because there are so many different kinds of fleas that live in your house and they all have different life cycles. The more you know about them and their habits, the better chance you’ll have at getting rid of them once and for all!
Light some matches in the infested areas of your home.
- Carefully light one match and then put it in a safe spot (such as a fireproof bowl).
- Light the other matches in the same way and place them around the room. Don’t light too many at once, and move quickly so that you don’t burn yourself.
- Let the matches burn for about 30 seconds. Be careful not to set anything else on fire! Also make sure that no pets or family members are near enough to be burned by flying sparks or embers.*
After letting all of your matches burn out, use a damp cloth or vacuum cleaner to clean up any leftover ash.* The fleas should be dead by now, but if you want to make sure they’re gone for good, repeat this process two more times.* If there are still live fleas after three rounds of lighting matches, try spraying some flea spray directly onto them (following product instructions) or treating with another method from this list:
The smoke makes fleas jump up so they’re exposed to the light, which kills them.
Smoke is a natural insect repellent. It can also be used to kill fleas in your house by exposing them to the light of day and killing them.
Smoke from burning wood, leaves or some other materials can help get rid of fleas in your house without using harsh chemicals. You can use this method inside or outside the home depending on how severe the infestation is. The smoke makes fleas jump up so they’re exposed to the light, which kills them.
Prepare a flea trap using dish soap and water.
- Pour dish soap in a bowl or bucket.
- Fill the container with water, making sure it’s deep enough to cover the fleas that are caught in the trap.
- Place lid on top of bucket or bowl and let sit overnight, preferably overnight so you can collect them the next morning when they’ve drowned themselves in the dish soap solution and water solution
The fleas will jump into the bowl of water to get at the soap, and drown there instead of in your carpet.

Soap and water is a natural flea repellent. Fleas are attracted to the scent of soap, so by putting dish soap in a bowl, you can trick them into jumping in for food or sex (depending on their gender), but then drown when they’re unable to escape. The soap breaks down their exoskeletons and kills them quickly, which means no more bites or itching from fleas on your body or pets. Wear shoes around the house to protect your feet from flea bites while you’re killing off the infestation.
If you’re going to be killing fleas and their eggs all over your house, it’s important that you protect yourself. I recommend wearing shoes all the time when you’re in your home (if you already wear them). This will help protect the bottoms of your feet from flea bites. Socks are also good at protecting ankles, as well as gloves for hands and a hat for hair! Of course, long-sleeved shirts should also be worn by everyone in the household during this process because they’ll protect arms too! Lastly, I recommend long pants so that legs don’t get bitten by fleas either!
To make sure that none of these insects can bite anyone during this process, each person should put on a flea collar around their neck too!
You can kill off a flea infestation without using dangerous chemicals.

You can use natural remedies to kill fleas and keep them from returning. Flea traps are one of the most effective ways to do this. These work by attracting fleas with a lure that mimics the smell of dog or cat blood: as soon as they come near, they’re sucked through into a vacuum bag where they die in minutes. A good trap will catch 100-200% more insects than any other method (including chemicals).
Another way to get rid of the pesky little bloodsuckers is with a flea bomb, which uses an aerosol spray that kills on contact and leaves no residue behind—but it must be used carefully because it will also kill anything else in its path (think pets!) so make sure that everyone is safely out of harm’s way before you set it off.In addition to these methods, there are also some other natural solutions available: Flea spray: This product uses vinegar mixed with water to create an acidic solution that kills all stages of life cycle within fifteen minutes.Flea collar: The collar contains pyrethrin powder mixed with permethrin which kills adults on contact while preventing further development into adulthood.
