Little Black Fleas

The film Little Black Fleas is a multi-media piece. It explores the themes of death, loss, disconnection and love through a series of vignettes. Each story stands alone while at the same time responding to and reflecting upon the others. The stories are at times funny and comedic, but they don’t shy away from intimate depictions of brutality or darker emotions such as anger and fear. The combination of storytelling styles challenges our assumptions about reality, identity and language.

What are the little black fleas? Where they come from? How can they be eliminated and how to prevent them?

For years, my husband and I had been looking for a way to see our friends’ baby growing inside of my belly. We dragged around an ultrasound machine and got some good shots while we could, but now that he’s born, we can’t get those same great images. These shots have always fascinated me. It’s amazing to look at an ultrasound and see your child in the womb.
