Over the years, Oggy has become an established television show and one of the most remembered animated series. However, many still do not realize that the show is based on a comic book debuting in 1973. The cartoon was produced by Socpresse (previously called Les Editions Albert René and now merged under the company name Canal +). The first season of Oggy premiered in 1984, and after that, the series became a hit. The show’s protagonist and titular character, Oggy (known as Georges Robins prior to his transformation), is a young male green-colored ogre who often gets involved in crazy adventures with his girlfriend, Jacky, and nemesis, Marky.

The series was created by French animator, Xavier Delloye, who also voices Oggy in the show. One of the reasons for its popularity is its unique style of animation. The characters are hand-drawn with a traditional pen-and-paper technique called rotoscoping. The show also uses a lot of different styles of animation, including 3D and CGI.

The show follows the adventures of Oggy, a cat who lives in an apartment building with his three cockroach roommates: Marky, Joey, and Dee Dee. Together they have many adventures as they try to figure out how to get food from Oggy’s owner without getting caught!

Oggy, DeeDee and Marky are characters from a French animated series titled “Oggy And The Cockroaches”. The show was created by Pierre Coffin and David Michel.

The show first aired on June 2nd, 1998 and ran until October 2nd, 2001.

The story centers around Oggy, a cat who lives with his family in a house that he shares with three cockroaches named Marky, Joey and DeeDee.

Marky is suave and often represented as lazy, often not really caring about what the two other roaches are doing. He is the middle child. While he originally used to love causing mischief just like the other cockroaches, he has grown to be more laid-back in later episodes, though he still enjoys hanging out with Joey and Dee Dee and continues to cause general mayhem like he has always done. Occasionally, he gets tired of Joey’s controlling antics and sides with Dee Dee when he feels Joey is being too assertive. He is sometimes portrayed as clumsy and even dizzy, probably symptom to his addiction to soda as seen in the episode Baby Doll, although he does prove to be talented in many fields, including hijacking, playing the mandoline/hukulele and drawing as well in later seasons.

His hobby is dating girls – sometimes even puppets or Oggy’s toy dolls – and reading books. He also has bad breath, as revealed in the episode It’s a Small World and Itsy-Bitsy Oggy (how he can stand his own bad breath is debatable, as he couldn’t stand the smell of gas in French Fries.)

Appearance

He is grey-bodied, green-headed roach with pink eyes. His body is a bit thin and he is almost twice the height of his brothers. He has long, thin, curly antennae, a big prominent upper lip and he sports white gloves as well as many characters in the show. He moves in a lanky, noodly and wacky way due to his clumsy and crazy nature.
