This is due to their incredibly small intelligence and the fact that, unlike dogs, cats or even fish, ants do not require any affection from their owners because any positive attention they receive is simply a bonus. What they say about ants is true: they do have a long memory and they do only have one queen and she’s in charge. Ant colonies live in large social groups of workers, drones and queens, who work together to raise their young. You can hardly believe that these tiny insects can be raised at home but that is the reality. The ant colony is usually characterized by an egg-laying queen ant. The queen ant has wings, unlike her daughters and other members of her colony who tend to stay inside their nests most of the time.
