What bed bug larvae look like? Bed bug larvae are yellowish-white in color, and have a small head and a large, curved belly. Like all bed bugs, bed bug larvae feed on blood — namely human blood. They find their hosts by scent, and once they find a host, they use their small mouth parts to pierce the hosts skin, and drink until full. Bed bugs are parasitic insects of the cimicid family that feed exclusively on blood. Cimex lectularius, the common bed bug, is the best known as it prefers to feed on human blood; other Cimex species specialize in other animals. All bed bug species have mouth parts designed to pierce the skin and suck blood, and have evolved as obligatory hematophagous parasites.
