Cockroaches are one of the most common pests in homes and businesses. Cockroaches can be found in almost any environment, including apartments, restaurants, schools and hospitals. There are over 4,000 different species of cockroaches worldwide.
The American Cockroach is the largest of all of the cockroaches in North America. They are reddish brown with a light yellow line behind their heads and bodies.
The German Cockroach is often found living around human habitation because they prefer warm and moist places to live. They are tan or brown colored with two dark stripes running down their backs. These insects are about 1/2 inch long with wings that cover their entire body when at rest.
The Oriental Cockroach is black to dark brown in color with a yellowish-orange band around its head area, though it may also have red markings on its wings as well as white bands around its antennae’s tips. This type of roach is found throughout the United States but is most prevalent in tropical areas such as Florida, Hawaii and California where it prefers warm temperatures and high humidity levels for survival purposes.”
Cockroaches are a nuisance in any home. They can be hard to get rid of, but there are some things you can do to help keep them at bay. Here are some facts about different types of cockroaches:
German Cockroach
1. The German cockroach is the most common type of roach in the United States. It’s brownish-gray, and it usually starts out as an egg case that hatches into nymphs, who then grow into adults. They live about six months, which means they can produce up to 200 offspring each year!
2. These little guys love warm places and will often be found in basements or near heat sources like stoves and ovens. If you see one outside in the summertime, it’s probably looking for shade!
3. The female lays her eggs in crevices or cracks in your floorboards or walls—or even inside furniture if they’re lucky enough to find a way inside your house! German roaches prefer dark spaces with plenty of food sources nearby so they can feed easily when necessary without having to search far away from their home base; this makes them harder to spot than other kinds of roaches might be because they tend to stay hidden away.
