Cockroaches are disgusting creatures, and are hated by most people. They can be found infesting houses and spreading disease. They leave odours that are hard to remove, even with bleach. For this reason, many people resort to spraying their homes with insecticides. Unfortunately for pet owners, insecticides can be deadly for pets. This is why it’s important to use cockroach sprays that don’t contain insecticide, like baking soda spray for cockroaches. We’ve all dealt with these nasty critters. We’ve tried all of the different sprays and powders, but nothing works as well as baking soda. Before we get started, let’s go over some facts about cockroaches to help you understand why this Baking Soda Spray will work better for you than anything else on the market. Cockroaches are a disgusting problem that affect a lot of people. They get into food around the house, give a bad aroma to your home, and they can carry bacteria that can make you very sick. The number one weapon against cockroaches is boric acid (borax). However, because it burns their exoskeleton when ingested, I found that it’s better to use a homemade boric acid spray made with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). This post will go over the ingredients needed to make this natural cockroach killer and how to use it effectively.

Baking Soda Spray For Cockroaches

Water

This recipe is for use in a spray bottle. To make the solution, simply add one cup of tap water to the bottle and then fill it up with baking soda, being careful not to overfill it. The final solution should have a consistency just like milk—not thick and not too thin. If you have an extra large spray bottle that only holds 1/2 cup at most of liquid, simply double this recipe (1/4 tsp.) or triple it (1/4 tsp.). A good rule of thumb is as follows: if you are using a larger or smaller size sprayer than recommended above, then increase or decrease the amount of baking soda accordingly to achieve the same consistency as milk (slightly thicker).

Dish soap

Dish soap is a good all-around cleaner. It’s also great for exterminating cockroaches, as the soap helps break down the insects’ protective coating and dehydrates them. To rid your home of these pesky pests, mix 2–3 drops of dish soap with 1 quart water (1:10 ratio) and spray it on cockroach infested areas like counters or floors. Make sure to clean up any residue left behind by this mixture after you’ve finished spraying it around your house. If you don’t want to use dish soap every time you need to kill roaches, try using laundry detergent instead—it has similar properties and is cheaper!

Baking soda

• Combine the baking soda and water in a spray bottle.
• Shake well to combine ingredients, then let stand for two minutes to allow the baking soda to fully react with the water.
• Spray on all surfaces where roaches are known or suspected of being active, making sure to thoroughly cover cracks and crevices that may be harboring cockroaches and their eggs before they hatch!

To make this mixture, you’ll need an empty spray bottle. If you don’t have a spray bottle, you can use a funnel to pour the mixture into a cleaned and dried empty container with a lid that seals tightly.

You’ll also need baking soda and water (in equal parts) for this recipe. You can mix it up in advance and store it in your fridge for up to three months if needed until you are ready to use it.
