Bed Bug Exterminator Connecticut

Bed Bug Exterminator Connecticut. You might just be surprised to find how common bed bugs infestations are. Many of my customers were completely unaware that they had a problem until I pointed out the bugs running around on their box springs. If you’ve never witnessed the existence of bed bugs, you can’t appreciate how disgusting they are or how frustrated you feel when you realize they’re living off your blood. But there is something worse than encountering bed bugs yourself, which is not seeing them and unknowingly bringing them into your home on some cheap furniture from the thrift store or on your bags. Bed bugs are parasitic pests that feed on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals. They are most commonly found within the crevices of beds, mattresses, and sheets. Bed bug infestations have been known to be spread through public transportation systems, hotels, and clothing stores. I am a bed bug exterminator in Connecticut and have been in this business for many years. I know how to fight any bed bug invasions with methods like thorough vacuuming and steaming.

Bed Bugs – The Problem

Bed bugs are parasitic insects that feed on the blood of warm-blooded animals. They have been known to feed on humans, although they prefer hosts that are living inside buildings and domestic animals.

Bed bugs are about 4-5 mm in length and brownish red in color. The bed bug’s body has three distinct parts: head capsule, thorax (the main part of the body), and abdomen. Bed bug nymphs resemble adults except for their smaller size, lack of wings, and translucent skin at the time they emerge from their eggs.

Adult female bed bugs lay clusters of 20-50 eggs during their lifetime; however only 10% of these eggs will survive to adulthood due to predators or other factors such as temperature fluctuations or lack of food supply within a home or building structure itself.”

Treatment for Bed Bugs

To successfully eradicate an infestation of bed bugs, a professional must implement a multi-faceted approach that involves both chemical treatment and heat treatment.

Heat treatment involves exposing the affected area to temperatures of around 120 degrees Fahrenheit for a period of 30 minutes or more. The heat kills off all life stages of bed bugs, including eggs and larvae.

Chemical treatment is necessary in order to kill any remaining bed bug eggs or immature nymphs that may have survived the initial heat treatment phase. Most professionals recommend combining chemical and heat treatments for best results.

A steam cleaning method may also be used as part of this process by applying hot steam directly to cracks in furniture and walls where bed bugs may be hiding out while they are inactive during daylight hours (called diurnal). Steam can penetrate deep into crevices where other methods won’t reach them! This can help eliminate even more eggs or larvae before they hatch out into adults later on down the road when you least expect it—which means fewer chances for reinfestations than if only one method was used alone without addressing all life stages present at once.”

Preventing Future Infestations

  • Do not travel with bed bugs. If you have a bed bug infestation, do not take any furniture or clothing that may be infested to your home. It can infect your house or apartment and make the problem worse.
  • Clean any infested areas regularly. Since it is hard to see these pests, you must use a vacuum cleaner on all of your couches, chairs and other furniture regularly (at least once a week) to eliminate eggs and larvae that you can’t see with the naked eye.
  • Keep your home clean and tidy at all times so that it does not attract the pests from neighboring houses or apartments in which they might be hiding out in holes found under cushions or along edges where some pieces connect together without being able to stay there for very long before having nowhere else left for them except outside onto grassy fields where their chances of survival drop dramatically because they cannot escape predators looking for an easy meal since those predators can smell blood even before finding any visible wounds showing evidence of recent activity among members within this species’ colony.”
