It seems that something always brings them back from the dead and your bunny will start scratching like crazy. The question is, are you up to the challenge of bathing a rabbit with fleas? It’s not as easy as it sounds but if you follow these simple steps, you’ll have a clean, flea-free pet in no time! Well, look at that. I got an angel. Weird, I just went to heaven. If your rabbit has fleas, you are in for a good time. Rabbits with fleas have itchy skin and will scratch uncontrollably. It is important to remove the fleas from your rabbit to stop the itchiness, but it is also important not to over-treat your pet.  Here are some tips for bathing a rabbit with fleas.

I was just approached by my local pet store to volunteer to teach a class on how to bathe a rabbit with fleas. How great is that? I get to spend a few hours in front of customers talking about rabbits, bathing them, and then giving them to kids. It’s only part-time so that’s what got me thinking: Should I really do this? Isn’t there something else I should be doing for this time? This brought more questions into my head: “What exactly do I tell these people?” and “What are the things I should tell them?” Bathing a rabbit with fleas is surely an intimidating task. I know because I’ve tried it before. The only way to ensure that your rabbit is safe from these pesky parasites is to use a solution that will kill the fleas. And the best way to ensure that there are no fleas at all is by using shampoo for cats. While this might sound like a mere coincidence, it’s not. Maybe, your rabbit has fleas. And maybe, you don’t like this one bit. You’ve tried worming him and bathing him with a fine shampoo. But still, the fleas remain! Here’s a few suggestions on how to get them off for good.

How To Bathe A Rabbit With Fleas

Bathing your rabbit can be one of the most important things you do for them. Fleas are a real problem for rabbits, and bathing them helps to remove fleas and keep them from coming back.

Rabbits typically require baths twice a year, but if your rabbit is already infested with fleas, it’s best to bathe them more frequently.

Rabbits should never be bathed more than once a day because it can lead to dry skin, which can cause flaking or itching. It’s also important that you don’t use shampoo that contains any chemicals that could harm your rabbit’s skin or coat. If you’re unsure about what kind of shampoo is safe for your pet, ask your veterinarian before bathing him or her with it.

Bathing your rabbit with fleas is a necessary part of caring for your pet. While you may have heard that bathing your rabbit can be harmful, it’s actually quite the opposite.

Follow these steps to make sure your pet stays safe and healthy while bathing:

1. Set up the bath area with a towel and a place for the rabbit to sit or lie down.

2. Make sure to wear clothing that won’t get wet when you bathe your pet as well as something waterproof for yourself (such as rubber boots).

3. Fill the tub with lukewarm water (about 100 degrees Fahrenheit) and add a bit of shampoo if desired.

4. Dunk your rabbit under water long enough so that their fur comes off easily with the help of a brush or combing tool, but not too long or else they may get cold! (If this happens, immediately dry them off and bring them inside.)

You’re probably thinking, “Why would I want to bathe a rabbit?” Well, for starters, it’s just so darn cute. And, as it turns out, bathing your rabbit is actually one of the best ways to get rid of fleas. So what are you waiting for? Let’s get started!

The first thing you need is a nice, warm bathtub and some towels. You can use any kind of towel you want so long as it isn’t too thick—you don’t want your rabbit to get tangled in it.

When you’re ready to start, place your bunny in the tub with her feet facing down and her head up. Make sure she doesn’t have any loose fur around her face or tail that could get caught in the drain (and cause unnecessary stress). If she does have any loose fur around these areas, trim them off before placing her in the water.
