Lemon eucalyptus oil (PMD) is a natural plant extract that has been used as an insect repellent for over 40 years. It is derived from the lemon eucalyptus tree and consists of two active ingredients, p-menthane-3, 8-diol (PMD) and 1,8 cineole.

PMD has been shown to be effective against mosquitoes, ticks, fleas and stable flies at concentrations of 0.1%–0.2%.
