Everything about Hawaii appeals to me. The tropical climate, beautiful scenery, and of course it’s warm and inviting people draw me like a moth to a flame. However, I found out that if you mess with the wrong insect, a fire ant (Monomorium close relative of the large Black Fire Ants found in South America and tropical Asia), you just might get burned! (Get it? Sorry).
Well, ants are interesting. A little more from my own experience as a little kid – I remember stomping on an ant’s nest and hearing some kind of electrical noise (I may have just concussed them all), but it was pretty cool. Fire ants are little creatures that get their name from the fact that they can survive anything like explosions or even shocks, because they’re able to put themselves back together in a matter of seconds!
