I don’t know much about Marauder Ants, but I read this fact on Wikipedia: “Marauder Ants (also called Ghost Ants), are a species of trailing ant found in Australia. They are the only ant species that hunts by walking over the ground, which they can do without leaving the pheromone trails they normally use to guide their nestmates to food.”

Marauder ants have the largest colonies of their species, on average containing approximately 40 million individuals. This can lead to a few things you might encounter that aren’t necessarily ant related. My goal is to help you differentiate between common symptoms and what’s actually wrong! Grooming behavior – The use of dirt or sand for cleaning is often mistaken for grooming behavior. In actuality, grooming involves combing the hair with a series of movements, but ants tend to use a repeated back-and-forth motion with one leg. Dirt or sand is usually used with one leg at a time.
