Natural Ways To Kill Ants In House

There are many ways to get rid of ants in house naturally. Many people use ant traps or baits; while some recommend using borax, vinegar, and even mint to get rid of ants. However, if you need to know more ways on how to kill ants in the house without any poisonous chemical, read on. There are three methods to kill ants in your house fast and naturally with plants. Ants are very beneficial in their capacity as scavengers, cleaning up compost, greasy buildup and wastes of all kinds. However, ants’ tendency to invade homes is the main turn-off for most homeowners. In addition to invading the house, ants also pose serious danger to people including children and pets. To avert this danger, it becomes necessary that we make some attempts at killing these insects.

Natural Ways To Kill Ants In House

Boiling Water

  • Boiling Water

Boiling water is an effective way of killing ants, but only if you are careful. If you don’t want to risk boiling water spilling out of the pot and onto your kitchen floor or other areas where it can cause damage, use a container with a wide mouth and make sure it is on a heatproof surface while heating up. Never pour boiling water directly on anthills as they may contain eggs that will be killed as well and can lead to fewer ants in the future.

  • Vinegar And Water Mixture

Ants do not like vinegar’s smell or taste, so try mixing some white vinegar with warm water before pouring it into their path. This mixture will not kill them immediately, but will create an unpleasant environment for them to inhabit

Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil is another natural way to get rid of ants. It’s a powerful insecticide, so it will kill the ants in your house quickly. You can use peppermint oil in three different ways:

  • Put some peppermint oil on cotton balls or pads and place them around the ant nest. The ants will smell the peppermint and go away, taking their babies with them. Be sure that there are no pets around when using this method because they may lick up any leftover residue from the cotton balls or pads if they come into contact with them later on. If you do have pets, you should use another form of ant control instead of using this one because pets can get sick from consuming too much peppermint oil over time (although I haven’t heard any stories about anyone’s pet actually getting sick).
  • Mix some water with 1 teaspoon each of lemon juice and vanilla extract along with 2-3 drops each of tea tree essential oils and peppermint essential oils into an empty spray bottle; fill rest up with tap water then shake well before using it! Spray this mixture onto areas where people often see ants crawling around like kitchen counters, windowsills etc., wait 10 minutes so all surfaces are completely dry then wipe off excess liquid gently using paper towel–do not rub hard as this may cause damage if done too aggressively!! Repeat application every 7 days until problem ceases completely but only apply once per day maximum (more frequent applications could potentially irritate skin).

Lemon Juice

A simple mixture of water and lemon juice can also be very effective in repelling ants. Mix one part lemon juice with three parts water, and then pour it into a spray bottle. Spray the areas where you see ants at least once a day to keep them away. If you find ants in your kitchen, try cleaning with this mixture instead of using chemicals that could be harmful to the environment (and possibly even yourself). As soon as they smell the lemon scent, most ants will flee from it immediately!

Cinnamon

  • Sprinkle cinnamon around the ant’s entry point. Cinnamon acts as a barrier that the ants cannot cross, preventing them from entering your house. It also has a pleasant smell and is safe for children and pets to ingest.
  • Mix cinnamon with water in equal parts to make a spray solution. Spray this solution on areas where you have seen ants climbing up walls or along baseboards, such as near doors or windowsills. This will kill any existing ants and prevent them from returning to these locations in the future!

Vinegar

You can also use vinegar to repel ants. Ants don’t like the smell of vinegar, so they will stay away from areas where it has been sprayed. Vinegar is also a great surface cleaner and natural ant repellent.

If you want to use an organic solution that uses citrus fruits, place orange peels around doors and windows to deter ants from entering your home. This works for both outdoor and indoor repellents!

Cayenne Powder

Cayenne powder is made from the dried, ripe fruit of hot peppers. It’s commonly used to season foods and as a home remedy for various ailments. You can buy it in the spice aisle of most grocery stores or online. Your first step should be to determine where the ants are getting into your house, as this will help you figure out where to apply cayenne powder.

If you find that there is a nest on or near your property (such as under a rock), mix about half a teaspoon of cayenne powder with about 2 tablespoons of water until it forms a thick paste. Then apply this mixture directly to the nest using a paintbrush, foam paint brush or even an old toothbrush.[1]

Alternatively, if you don’t see any nests nearby but still want to get rid of these pesky insects around your home, try sprinkling some cayenne pepper along windowsills and door frames where they’re entering.[2]

Chili Powder

  • You can use chili powder as an effective way to get rid of ants in your house.
  • Chili powder is spicy, so it can burn the ants and kill them that way.
  • If you want to be more environmentally friendly and don’t want to use harsh chemicals that might be toxic for your family, then using chili as a natural ant killer is a good option for you because it’s all-natural!
  • Here are some ways that you can use chili powder:
  • Mix some water with some chili pepper flakes or crushed red pepper (if you like things spicy) and put it into an old spray bottle, then spray away on any areas where ants may be crawling around or entering into your home!
  • Put some chili powder directly onto the area where there are ants.. The heat from the pepper will kill them instantly!

Diatomaceous Earth

Diatomaceous earth is a sedimentary rock made of fossilized phytoplankton, and it acts as an abrasive to the exoskeletons of insects. This abrasive effect causes ants to dry out and die.

If you want to try diatomaceous earth for yourself, make sure that you purchase food-grade Diatomaceous Earth powder. Food-grade Diatomaceous Earth is often sold online or in health stores like Whole Foods.

Sprinkle a small amount of food-grade Diatomaceous Earth over ant hills or around the perimeter of your home where ants are entering through cracks or crevices in the foundation or walls, making sure not to leave any exposed areas where they can access this substance without getting covered by it themselves when they come through those entrances later on down the road (which will happen eventually). After sprinkling some dust around these entry points, wait at least one day before checking back to see if there has been any activity; if there hasn’t been any activity within 24 hours then reapply another layer over top again until all visible surfaces have been covered completely with this substance

Coffee Grounds

Coffee grounds are a popular and effective way to repel ants. Ants are attracted to the caffeine in coffee grounds, which makes them an effective repellent. The best way to use coffee grounds is by mixing it with water, forming a thick paste, and spreading it near ant trails. If you don’t have time for that process, simply making a small pile of coffee grounds will also work!

If you’re looking for another natural repellent option for your home or office, consider using peppermint oil or lemon juice as well as coffee grounds as an alternative method of pest control.

Ants are a pain to deal with, especially when they invade your home!

When you’re dealing with a problem as annoying and persistent as ants invading your home, you want to make sure that the solution you choose is not only effective but safe for everyone in your household. A natural treatment like boiling water or peppermint oil may be just what you need to keep ants out of your home—but it’s important to understand which methods are safe for pets and children before trying them out yourself.

Here are a few natural ways to kill ants in house:

  • Boiling Water – Pour boiling water on the ant nest or mound outside your house. This will force them from their homes, where they can no longer reproduce or survive. Once they’re gone, make sure there aren’t any other nests nearby so they don’t come back after being displaced by this method!
  • Peppermint Oil – Ants hate peppermint oil! Simply place some cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil near an ant trail or nest; this will drive them away from their colony and prevent future invasions by driving off any new scouts who try to locate another suitable location nearby that has been used by humans before (which is why it’s important not only when using these methods but also when cleaning up after meals).
