Oggy And Cockroaches

Introduction

Oggy and the Cockroaches (known as Oggy et les Cafards in French, often referred to as simply Oggy) is a French animated comedy series produced by Xilam and Gaumont Film Company. It centers on the adventures of an anthropomorphic blue cat named Oggy, who would prefer to spend his days in peace. Unfortunately for him, he has three very mischievous roommates: Joey, Dee Dee, and Marky (known as “Bob” in some versions), collectively known as the cockroaches or the roaches. The show debuted on France 3 on 6 October 1998.

Oggy

Oggy is the main character in all of the Oggy and the Cockroaches episodes. He is a blue cat whose full name is Oggy Poucet, who likes to watch TV and eat bugs. He’s not very intelligent, but he somehow manages to get out of trouble every time it happens. On top of being stupid, he also has a girlfriend named Sally (who was introduced in “Oggy and the Cockroaches and The Invention”).

While he’s not exactly smart, he does have some knowledge on how to use certain items such as an iron or hammer that people would need for their everyday lives. However, this doesn’t mean that you should actually use these things because they could cause serious injuries if used by someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing like Oggy does!

Aside from being able to speak English fluently (although his accent isn’t quite understandable at times), Oggy can move around freely unlike every other character except for Gossamer (the pet fly). This means that if something happens on screen where no one else is present then there’ll still be movement going on until something interrupts them such as when Sal caught both him and Gossamer watching TV together while she was trying out new clothes!

Jack

Jack is a red roach with a big nose and usually seen wearing a green shirt that says “Jack” on it. He is the leader of the roaches, and most often seen plotting against Oggy.

He is also in love with Annie (the female cockroach), but she ignores him because she wants to marry Oggy instead.

Dinah

Dinah is a bluebird. She is Oggy’s girlfriend, neighbor and friend. She even acts as Oggy’s pet at times. In the episode “Dinah Is My Girlfriend” she first meets him when she comes over to make lunch for her owner who lives next door to Oggy. When she does this, he falls in love with her and wants her to be his girlfriend because he thinks that she is beautiful and sweet like honey (because it tastes sweet).

When Dinah sees him again in the episode “My New Friend,” they begin talking about each other while playing hide-and-seek together. At first Dinah seems interested but then leaves without saying goodbye or anything else! So we find out what happened when one day I was watching television without any noise coming from my computer because I didn’t want anyone else knowing what was going on between me and Edgar Allen Poe while writing this article…then suddenly there came these noises…

Bob

Bob is the leader of the roaches and is usually the one who gets them into trouble. He has a girlfriend named Dinah, but he’s not very smart, so he’s rarely able to get her to do anything with him.

While Bob might be ignorant when it comes to romance, he does at least show some initiative when it comes to his job as a janitor at Oggy’s house. He cleans up after Oggy and makes sure that everything is nice and tidy for when he returns from work every day. This can sometimes lead to conflict between Bob and another character who lives in their apartment building: Jimmy the Cockroach!

Joey

Joey is the second youngest of the cockroaches, and is the most gullible of the group. He often asks questions that have been answered multiple times before, or asks things that are already obvious to everyone else in the room (including Oggy). He has a habit of comparing his situation to that of characters from shows such as “The Adventures of The Red Mouse,” which he considers to be among his favorite shows.

He is also very fond of sweets, especially donuts and chocolate bars.

Dee Dee

Dee Dee is Oggy’s mom and the only other person in the house. She is usually seen doing chores around the house, while also doting on her son and cooking his meals. She loves Oggy dearly but she has been known to get angry at him whenever he gets into trouble, which happens more often than not.

Oggy’s father first appeared in “The Story of My Life”, where he was shown as a young man with blue hair who wanted to be a rock star when he grew up (a dream that never came true). His parents also make an appearance in “The Story of My Life” and “A Trip Down Memory Lane”. In “Mommy Dearest”, Mrs. Williams stated that she wasn’t always like this – but something changed after having kids and after years of working as a dancer/stripper at night clubs (which contributed greatly to their financial problems).

Oggy is an anthropormorphic blue cat who would like nothing better than to spend his days watching television and eating, but is often thwarted in this by the three roaches in the household. While they enjoy causing mayhem, Oggy can only react with mild annoyance. The series is set in a generic city which does not appear to be located on Earth, which is sometimes implied to be set in the future. Most parts of the city are identified as locations such as “downtown” or “the park”. The background of a few episodes also reveal some locations like “Westtown”, “Easttown”, and “Northtown”, the last of which had a main appearance in one episode. There are many vehicles seen through the series, ranging from cars to spaceships and even aircrafts. The cars seen throughout the show are often models that were discontinued between 1996 and 2001 (especially 1997). The characters seem to use a wide variety of tools such as hammers or roller skates or anything they can get their hands on.

Oggy and the Cockroaches is a French animated comedy series produced by Xilam and Gaumont Film Company. The show centers around an anthropomorphic blue cat named Oggy, who prefers to spend his time lounging in front of the TV without doing much else due to his laziness but is often pestered by three tiny roaches in the household: Joey, Dee Dee and Marky. Oggy enjoys peace and quiet but the cockroaches – who have nothing better to do than cause trouble for him – make sure that he is never bored for long…
