Pesticide For Emerald Ash Borer

Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is an invasive tree-killing pest insect that is threatening the natural resources of Illinois. Dr. Patrick Koehler, was identified as a leading expert in insecticides for EAB and received a $1 million dollar grant from the USDA to assist with controlling and eliminating this pest insect by implementing an extensive pesticide program that has proven effective in curbing the spread of this destructive pest. Brought to the US from Asia, the Asian or Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) has been killing ash tree and other borer trees all over the country. The scale of damage is enormous, and it has forced cities in North America to plant larger numbers of trees and take other measures to recover damages and prevent further spread. These pests can easily be transported in firewood.

Pesticide For Emerald Ash Borer

Emerald ash borer, or EAB, is a beetle that attacks and kills ash trees. It is an invasive species that was first discovered in the Detroit area in 2002. Since then, it has spread across the Midwest and into Canada, killing millions of ash trees.

This pest has been difficult to eradicate because it can exist in egg or larval stages for up to two years without feeding. The larvae feed on and kill the inner bark of trees and eventually cause them to die. Adult beetles also feed on and damage tree bark.

Since there are no known biological controls for EAB, chemical pesticides are used to manage this pest.

The Emerald Ash Borer is a beetle that has been destroying ash trees in North America for over a decade. The EAB has now spread to more than 60 countries, including the United Kingdom and Ireland, where it is wreaking havoc on ash trees.

The Emerald Ash Borer is a bright green metallic beetle. It is about 1/2 inch long, with an elongated body and long legs. Its larvae are cream colored grubs that feed on the inner bark or cambium of ash trees. The larvae create galleries in the tree as they feed, which disrupts nutrient flow and causes sapwood tissue to die back. This can lead to injury or death of the tree.

Mature larvae will pupate in their galleries after feeding for one year, then emerge as adults during late summer and early fall when temperatures begin to cool down again so they can lay eggs in bark crevices below the soil line where new infestations begin again each springtime season year after year until all mature ash trees are gone from our landscape forever!

We have a unique product for the emerald ash borer. Our product is a liquid that is designed to be applied directly to the bark of an ash tree. When applied, it forms a barrier around the tree that protects it from infestation by the emerald ash borer. It also creates a toxic environment for members of the phylum Arthropoda, which includes insects such as beetles and spiders. This makes it safe for humans and pets to be around the tree, because they will not be exposed to any harmful chemicals by doing so.

Our product has been tested in both laboratory settings and in real-world environments where there are many different types of trees growing together. We are proud to say that our product was shown not only to protect trees from emerald ash borer but also protect them from other insect infestations!
