Pictures Of Bed Bug Stages

Bed bugs do not cause allergies. However, when some people are bitten, the bite sites can become irritated and inflamed. Bed bugs thrive in clean, cluttered, and well-kept homes. They can live in cracks, crevices, joints of furniture, behind wall hangings, electrical outlet plates, etc. They are usually found in the bedrooms but could be found anywhere in a room. You may have thought bed bug bites were simply marks that didn’t itch. But in fact, the absence of an itch can be a sign of an allergic reaction to these pesky insects. Bed bugs aren’t just an annoyance — they can cause true physical discomfort, even when they’re not feeding on you. These parasites feed on human blood at night and bite exposed skin. They hide during the day in wood or paper products or inside of furniture cracks. They are usually nocturnal, hiding in cracks and crevices during day and coming out to feed at night. Bed bugs often hide within five inches of a bed or resting site, where they live by sucking blood from humans.

Bed bugs are a nuisance, but they’re also really fascinating. Here’s a look at the different stages of a bed bug:

First, there’s the egg. Bed bugs lay eggs just about anywhere—in furniture, on clothing, or even in cracks in walls. The eggs are very small and hard to see with the naked eye. They can be tan or yellowish-white in color.

After about 2 weeks, the eggs hatch into larvae, which are basically baby bed bugs. These little guys have six legs (three on each side) and are translucent white in color—they’re so small that you might not even notice them if you saw them crawling around on your mattress or floor!

The larvae will feed off their own skin for a while before molting into nymphs (which means they shed their exoskeleton), which look more like adults except they’re smaller and have fewer hair-like projections on their bodies (called bristles).

This is when things get interesting: The nymphs will feed on blood (yuck!), but they won’t grow up into adults unless they mate with other nymphs first.

Bed bugs are small insects that live in the crevices and cracks of beds, sofas and other areas where people sleep or rest. They can be difficult to see, but adult bedbugs are about the size of an apple seed (5mm), while newly hatched nymphal bedbugs (young ticks) are smaller than a poppy seed.

Bed bugs are reddish-brown in color, but they turn rusty after feeding on blood. Their flat bodies allow them to hide in tiny spaces, making it hard for humans to detect their presence. Bed bug bites can cause skin rashes, itching and swelling.

Bed bugs feed on blood from humans and other warm-blooded animals such as bats, birds or rodents. They usually crawl onto their hosts while they sleep at night and bite them on their exposed skin. The most common places for bedbugs to bite include the face, neck and arms.
