75% polyester, 25% cotton; 100% polyester lining

You’ve probably heard the term “polyester” before. You may have even worn a polyester shirt or pants before. But what exactly is it? Polyester is a synthetic fiber made from petroleum, which means that it’s made from oil. Cotton, on the other hand, comes from cotton plants and is made up of cellulose fibers like in wood pulp and paper products.

Polyesters are more resistant to water than cotton because they don’t absorb moisture as easily (which means you’ll stay drier if you’re caught in the rain). They also dry faster than cottons do—which can mean fewer wrinkles!

Despite its many benefits over cotton, polyester does not breathe well when it gets hot out so you may find yourself feeling hot and sweaty inside this jacket unless you put on an undershirt beneath it (or wear nothing under it at all).
